When I Was Young

Tim Strathman Band

Well I drank too much one Wednesday night
Thought I wouldn’t get caught so I took a drive
Oh, about a mile down the road I saw the lights
Man they sure put those cuffs on tight

I ain’t always been the kind you'd wanna take home to momma
I've done some things in life that don't make me proud
So I'll sit here tonight until this whiskey glass is dry
Just thinking about the things that I've done
Back when I was young

I dropped out of college two different times
Everything I lost was on my dime
I didn't finish what I started but I'm just fine
Because I've got a job I've got a son and I've got a wife

I ain’t always been the kind you'd wanna take home to momma
I've done some things in life that don't make me proud
So I'll sit here tonight until this whiskey glass is dry
Just thinking about the things that I've done
Back when I was young

Well looking back at life man I've changed
And I wouldn’t trade one single day, no not one day

I ain’t always been the kind you'd wanna take home to momma
I've done some things in life that don't make me proud
So I'll sit here tonight until this whiskey glass is dry
Just thinking about the things that I've done
Back when I was young
