TRAVIS MARVIN

Greetings! My name is Travis Marvin and I hail from the small town of Ottawa, Kansas. I have been playing country music for over 15 years and have recently started working on my debut album. For the past three months I have been slaving tirelessly to get my self-titled EP out the door. I credit legendary country music artists Johnny Cash, George Strait and Garth Brooks for influencing my musical choices over the years. I have been fortunate in my journey thus far and have met some amazing people along the way. It has been my privilege and honor to work with some of Nashville's great writers such as Eddie Kilgallon, Kent Blazy, Gary Hannon, Eddie Montgomery, Jeff Dayton and Billie Dean. While I was waiting for my EP to come out of production I had the good fortune to travel to Manaus, Brazil to visit my wife, Summer. She is currently residing there teaching English as a second language to native Brazilians. I was immediately welcomed into the community which, in turn, allowed me to bring my country music to the stage. In less than six weeks I performed at three separate venues and was interviewed by Radio Amazonas 101.5 FM and Rede Bon Vontade 610, a local AM station. I was also afforded the privilege of appearing on Amazonas Television, a local Manaus station. Articles about my performances were also posted in three newspapers. While visiting a local club, Botequims, I was asked to perform at a samba club for a party titled "Samba Meets Country." Approximately 150 people attended this event. By the end of one of my original songs the crowd was signing along in English! This was such and honor and an incredibly humbling experience. I was invited by Ketlen Nascrimento, a local Manaus talent, to sing with her during her concert, Meeting of the Waters. The event was held in Manaus at the ICBEU school auditorium and was attended by several hundred guests. My sole purpose for traveling to Brazil was to spend some time with my wife. I never dreamed my music would be received with so much enthusiasm in a country where Portuguese is the native tongue. I look forward to going back soon where offers await to perform on even bigger stages! I returned to the United States on the 4th of July to find my EP waiting at my door. Immediately, I went to work on scheduling several large shows in Kansas and Colorado. The first was a convention in Pueblo, Colorado where I performed three concerts in as many nights for more than 700 people. I sold numerous copies of my EP which afforded me the time to start the next phase of picking out more songs to complete my album. Since my July homecoming I have performed 12 shows and have sold over 600 units. There are 14 more shows currently on my schedule and many more still to be determined. Due to demand I will be ordering more units of my EP very soon. My largest upcoming show will be for Wal-Mart, where an estimated 800-1200 people plan to attend. My CD is in the process of being reviewed by Today's Country magazine. It is also in the hands of local country music radio stations in Kansas City and Topeka. I have been approached my numerous people offering to help me obtain my goal in any way that they can. I am thankful everyday for the support of my family and friends. Without them the reward would not be as sweet. I currently have a professional website that is still in the launching phase. It should be up and running soon. Please feel free to check it out at http://www.travismarvin.com. If you would like to view my current schedule or want to see pictures, song list, press releases or listen to my music please visit my My Space page at http://myspace.com/travismarvin. I have had over 4000 hits on my songs and numerous downloads as well. It is my plan to get more music up soon. You can also view some of my videos as well out on You Tube if you search for "TravisMarvin". Once I have reached my goal of selling 1000 units of my EP, I plan to return to the studio to complete my album with my producer, Eddie Kilgallon, who is also the keyboardist for the hot duo group, Montgomery Gentry. I am a full-time employee for the University of Kansas but my goal is to begin touring around the country by early next year to promote my debut album and garner public approval. I also plan to start selling T-Shirts and other commodities to help get my name out there and attract more fans. There is nothing I want more than to entertain people by telling them my life story through my music. I plan to do this with a faith and love that everyone can relate to. The start of my journey has been amazing thus far and it has only just begun. I thank you for being a part of it!
